Patient Registration Specialists

Job Summary: MedNext is seeking Patient Registration Specialists to assist with administrative duties at COVID-19 testing sites throughout the state of Michigan. These sites will include nursing homes, long-term care facilities, jails, food processing plants, and other locations.

Job Details: The Patient Registration Specialist performs all outpatient and inpatient registration functions, for MedNext at each testing site, providing excellent patient satisfaction. The primary role of the PRS is the fast and accurate input of patient data. Strive to sustain courteous and caring impression for patients and visitors. Communicates effectively to maximize patient flow and leave a courteous and caring impression on all patients. Each PRS must adhere to all HIPAA requirements.

Additional Job Specifics: The Patient Registration Specialist will be part of 3-5-person teams that will collect specimens within an estimated 60-mile radius of the following markets in Michigan; Marquette, Traverse City, Grand Rapids, Kalamazoo, Lansing, Midland, and Detroit. All equipment and supplies necessary to facilitate testing (registration laptops, swabs/test supplies and PPE) will be provided by MedNext.
Primary Duties/ Responsibilities
- Arrive at designated facilities promptly to assist in the set-up of the testing area before beginning registration and then testing.
- Safeguard themselves, the extended testing team, and those being tested by observing appropriate infection control procedures.
- Quickly and accurately, register patient’s information onto laptop/iPad
- Safely and accurately label specimen samples (post-test)
- Maintain HIIPA standards at each testing site, especially protecting the confidentiality of those individuals tested for COVID-19.

Qualifications Required:
- Associate degree, or relevant data entry experience in a healthcare/data entry or consumer event setting can be considered in lieu of the required degree
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation is mandatory.

- Computer experience, with fast, accurate typing skills
- Strong organization abilities and attention to detail
- Ability to remain calm and professional, even in emergency situations Excellent Compensation
- Receive between 3-7 testing assignments each week
- Receive up to $250 daily based on qualifications and experience
- Receive pay weekly through direct deposit
